Pedestrian Killed in Accident on I-25

Pueblo, CO- On December 9, 2025, at approximately 11:53 PM, Pueblo Police officers were dispatched to I-25 southbound, between Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass and 13th St. in reference to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female in the roadway south of a crashed Honda Civic. It appeared that the female, who was an occupant of the wrecked Honda Civic, was struck while outside of the Honda by another vehicle unrelated to the first accident.  There were several parties on scene who stopped to assist.

Traffic Investigators and CSI Detectives were called out to investigate and the interstate was shut down temporarily.

The investigation revealed that there was a single vehicle crash involving the Honda that struck the jersey barricade and came to rest in the left lane.  Once the occupants exited the vehicle, they both were struck by a passing vehicle.  One of the parties survived their injuries and is cooperating with the investigation.  The passing vehicle did not stop and is currently being sought by investigators.

The investigation is ongoing. This is the 21st fatal crash of 2025.
