Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Both Directions of Interstate 70 at Eisenhower Tunnel

(COLORADO) – On April 14, 2026, the Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of Interstate 70 near Eisenhower Tunnel (milepost 216) for a reported large multi-vehicle crash. The roadway will be closed in both directions for an extended period of time. 

Information will be released as it becomes available. Alternate routes are advised for those traveling on Interstate 70.

**UPDATE**

(COLORADO) - This crash was first reported to the Colorado State Patrol at 2:50 p.m. and occurred only on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel. Currently, 19 people are being transported due to this crash scene with varying injuries, and no fatalities have been reported at this time. It has not been confirmed how many vehicles are involved.

The westbound left lane of Interstate 70 is closed for medical staging purposes. The westbound right lane of I-70 is open and moving slowly. All of eastbound Interstate 70 is estimated to be closed for the next 4-6 hours.
