Vandalism at Springfield Park Water Tower Prompts Police Appeal for Community Footage

Recently, an unknown individual or individuals climbed the water tower at the Springfield Park and intentionally covered the “Springfield” lettering. While the effort it took to get up there is, admittedly, impressive, the act itself is disappointing and unacceptable. The water tower was recently repainted to improve its appearance and help preserve the structural integrity of the tower, and damage like this is unnecessary and ultimately comes at a cost to the taxpayers of this community.

We are asking for the public’s assistance. Community members can securely upload any surveillance footage from the area surrounding the park and water tower using the following link or QR code. Submitted footage goes directly to our evidence portal and is not made public. Please limit submissions to footage that may actually help identify the individual or individuals involved.

If you have cameras in the area, we ask that you take a few minutes to review your footage and submit anything you believe may be relevant. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact dispatch at 719-523-4511.
