This will be the final update for the Poitrey Canyon Fire in Las Animas County. Fire management officials reported reaching 100% containment late yesterday.

The DFPC Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA) successfully guided firefighters to heat sources in close proximity to control lines, and crews made great progress patrolling and mopping up hot spots along the perimeter.

DFPC will be working with Las Animas County and the local fire protection district to determine the timing of the transfer of command today.

Most resources are being released; however, an engine will remain for at least another day to patrol and monitor before the arrival of a spring storm expected to bring widespread precipitation.
