Scholarship Recipient – Kree Walace
Lamar— May 12, 2026 — Golden Plains Insurance is thrilled to announce Kree Walace as the recipient of the prestigious Golden Plains Insurance Scholarship for 2026. This annual scholarship, awarded by Golden Plains Insurance, recognizes outstanding dedication to community, education, faith, and academic excellence among graduating seniors.
Golden Plains Insurance is proud to announce Kree Wallace of Las Animas as the recipient of its 2026 Educational Scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 30 outstanding applicants, Kree distinguished himself through his dedication to community service, passion for agriculture, strong academic achievements, and exemplary leadership. The scholarship committee was honored to recognize Kree’s hard work, character, and commitment to making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.
Kree Wallace distinguished himself through exceptional academic achievement, earning an impressive 4.265 weighted GPA, as reflected in his official high school transcript. His application was further strengthened by three remarkable letters of recommendation, each underscoring his strong commitment to his aspirations, educational excellence, and the agricultural community.
With plans to major in veterinary medicine and ultimately earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Kree will attend West Texas A&M University this fall. His passion for agriculture and dedication to his future career are clearly reflected in his autobiographical statement: “My love for life within agriculture is what has led me to want to become a veterinarian, as well as drives me to create a life for myself within the industry.” Through his continued education and determination, Kree is taking meaningful steps toward achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
