La Junta Senior Golf League Results: 50 Golfers Compete in June 9 Scramble and Chipping Contest

The La Junta Senior Golf League hosted 50 players on June 9. Two new senior golfers were welcomed: Jane Jacquart and Bruce Baca. Participants broke up into ten teams of five golfers. Two games were played: a nine-hole scramble and a chipping contest on the practice green. Both games were very competitive with multiple ties. There were two challenge chips (hole #5 from the sand) and (hole #9 from long grass); no one was able to complete those challenges. A challenge putt on hole #3 was only made by Matt Perea.
Next week, June 16, we will start at 9:00 a.m. due to the summer heat. We will play the string game. Registration is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Teams are picked at 8:45 a.m., so no players can be added after that time. If you anticipate being late but will be on time for play, call 719-469-0691 to be added onto the list.
