As our Pueblo West firefighters complete their assignments on the Aspen Acres Fire, I wanted to share some information about our department’s response and, more importantly, express my gratitude to our community.

The Pueblo West Fire Department deployed resources beginning around 6:00 a.m. on June 29 and completed our final assignment on July 13. During this time, the department served in multiple roles, including firefighting operations, resource ordering, and community support for those most affected by the fire. The commitment of our men and women to the fire response was unwavering, and at no time did their dedication to serving and protecting the Pueblo West community fall short.

The outpouring of support from Pueblo West residents and businesses was overwhelming, and I personally cannot thank you enough. Our firefighters felt your appreciation through the generous donations of supplies and encouragement that supported them throughout this deployment.

I will never truly be able to put into words how grateful I am, and how grateful our entire department is, for your support and kindness. Please continue to keep those who have suffered loss in your thoughts and prayers as they begin the difficult process of recovery.
